Netflix reportedly bags the exclusive streaming rights of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Darlings
After proving her versatile acting skills and giving a hit of strings, Alia Bhatt is all set to don the hat of a producer. Alia’s first production venture, Darlings will be co-produced by none other than Bollywood’s King, Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie has been in the headlines ever since it was announced. Now, as per the latest buzz, the film has been sold for a huge amount of Rs. 80 crore.
Where every big star is making their way for OTT release, Alia’s debut production Darlings will also have a digital route. According to the latest report in Pinkvilla, the streaming giant Netflix has bagged the exclusive streaming rights of the film. The source told the web portal, "The conversations were on with multiple players and it's finally Netflix, who has bagged the exclusive streaming rights. The film has been sold for a sum of Rs 80 crore, thereby making it one of the biggest deals for a female-led film.”
Talking about the film, ‘Darlings’ is reportedly a dark comedy and will narrate the story of a mother-daughter relationship. Directed by Jasmeet K Reen, the movie, is currently in the post-production stage. Besides Alia Bhatt, the upcoming flick also features Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, and Vijay Verma in key roles.
Shefali will be seen essaying the role of Alia’s mother in the same.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has also been creating a huge buzz for her upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial was released a few days ago and it has left everyone mighty impressed.
